JOANA CORRÊA ASSUNÇÃO, a native of Brazil, is a certified instructor in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® since 2005.

Ccertified instructor in the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®, including:

GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Methods, Level 1 & Level 2, GYROTONER®, Jumping/Stretching Board and the Archway.

She is a Physical Therapist, licensed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil since 2002, and studied a variety of Holistic Therapeutic Techniques, including the School of Reeducation of the Movement Ivaldo Bertazzo, São Paulo, Brazil. She specialized in GDS Muscular Chain Method, in Paris, 1995.

Joana was awarded a one year scholarship by the Ministry of Education to study in New York City with the choreographer Trisha Brown.

She continues to learn and practice the GYROTONIC® Method under the teachings of Maria Holm, Juergen Bamberger and Young-ah Kim.

Joana has been a co-owner of GYROTONIC® Soho - Movement Beyond since 2011, and works with all range of clients as a GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Instructor. She is a GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Pre-Trainer since 2023.
